ABOUT LIGHTING CAMERA OPERATOR…

My name is Richard Reed and I am a freelance Lighting Cameraman, Director of Photography.

During my 17 years experience I have worked across a wide variety of television programs and corporate video as a cameraman. Some of my credits include BBC, ITV, Sky Movies, Film Four, Telegraph Media Group, CNBC, MicroSoft and NBC. Working on news, music promos, documentary, fashion, drama, corporate and factual.

I have been working behind the camera lens since 2001, starting in television drama and working my way from focus puller/camera assistant up to Lighting Cameraman. I attended Ravensbounre College from 1999-2001 gaining a HND in Professional Broadcasting and Technical Operations.

I work for a variety of corporate clients as both Cameraman and Director. Having directed several projects for The Telegraph Media Group online commercial campaigns such as Churchill Insurance and Cuprinol.

I can be hired as a freelance cameraman with 4K HD camera kit. My equipment list includes the Sony FS7 camera, Canon Prime lens set, lighting and sound. A full list can be viewed here. Video editing on Adobe Premier CC is also available.

I am based close to South London, but am hired to film all over the UK and World. I have worked in Kenya, France, Italy, Rwanda and Spain.

I have a regular team of London based freelance camera crew that I work with. Should I not be available for your shoot, I can generally recommend from my network of trusted camera crew from Sound Recordists, Video Editors, Camera Assistants, Make up Artists, Producers and Camera Operators. These are supplied by Video Production Company Platform 80.

In addition to being hired as a cameraman, I also have experience as a video editor for a number of years, and can edit video footage using Adobe Premiere Pro. I also work with a selection of graphics edits that can produce Motion Graphics for corporate video projects.

Although I have my own Sony FS7 camera kit, I am available as dry hire DoP to work on video productions using other camera formats. For rates on hiring me as a dry and wet hire cameraman please drop me an email.
